The Executive Group (Vorstand) consists of the Cluster Coordinator and four other Members who may be entrusted with specific responsibilities.
The Executive Group is authorized for all decisions within the Cluster, in particular the distribution of funds to projects and other initiatives for science and research, filling professorships and positions in the central management.

The Extended Board (Erweiterter Vorstand) consists of 14 members. Similar to the Executive Group, each one of the members will take specific responsibilities which “mirror” the offices of the Executive Group. The Extended Board observes the work of the Executive Group and has advisory functions. It assists in the generation of the research program and its implementation, the definition of the criteria for quality management and the internal structure. Furthermore, it assists in the distribution of DFG funding.
